by how much does 1 exceed 2x -3y-4 Its answer is 5-2x+3y but how can any1 pls show me how this answer came ( by colummn method )

Just take a eg. How much 5 exceed 3 ,...it's 2 it means 5-3=2
X exceed y by (X-y).
So, by columns method , we can take 1=0×x+0×y+1
So, it will exceed by
(0×x+0×y+1)-(2x-3y-4=0-2x+0-(-3y)+1-(-4)=3y-2x+5=5-2x+3y
