Given,
S.P. of each transistor=Rs.600
For the 1st case:
Let the CP be x.
Hence,CP=SP-20%of CP
=> x=600-x/5
=>6x=600*5
=>x=500
For the 2nd case:
Let CP be y.
Hence,CP=SP+20%of CP
=>y =600 + y/5
=>4y=600*5
=>y=750
Hence, CP of the transistors is Rs.500 and Rs.750 respectively.
Total SP=Rs.1200(Given)
Total CP=Rs.(750+500)=Rs.1250
Hence, Total loss=Rs.50
Thus,Total loss%= (50/1250)*100
=4%.
Hope it helps.
