selling value of shirt = 285
loss = 5%
therefore 285 is 95% of total cost of shirt
let the total value of shirt be x
95% of x=285
95/100 * x =285
19/20 * x= 285
x = 285*20/19
x= 15*20
x=300rupees

total cost of shirt = 300
for profit of 15 percent,
15% of 300=15/100*300
=15*3
=45rupees

for 15% profit he should sell the shirt for
300 + 45
=345 rupees

Answer ..

selling price is equals to rupees 285

loss is equals to 5%

CP =S.P. × 100 / 100 - LOSS %

= 285×100/ 100 - 5

= 285×100/95

= 15×20=300

C.P. =300

SELLING THE SHIRT WITH 15 %OF PROFIT

C.P. = 300

PROFIT =15%

SELLING PRICE = C.P.×(100+ PROFIT %)/100

300×115/100

= 115× 3= 345 rupees
