Answer:

20,000

Step-by-step explanation:

SP = 24000

CP + Profit = SP

Let CP = x

x + 20% x = 24000

120%x = 24000

x = 24000 × 100 ÷ 120

x = 20,000

GIVEN :

  • SELLING PRICE (SP) OF A TV = Rs.2400
  • PROFIT% = 20%

TO FIND :

  • COST PRICE (CP) OF TV

SOLUTION :

profit\% =  \frac{(sp - cp) \times 100}{cp}  \\  \\  =  > 20 =  \frac{(2400 - cp) \times 100}{cp}  \\  \\  =  > 20cp = (2400 - cp) \times 100 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{cp}{5}  = 2400 - cp \\  \\  =  > cp = 12000 - 5cp \\  \\  =  > 6cp = 12000 \\  \\  =  > cp = rs.2000

COST PRICE (CP) OF TV

= Rs.2000
