Answer:

Loss percent if he sells the article for 3072 = 20%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Selling Price = SP = 4080

Profit % = 6.25%

Required to find,

The lost %, if the SP is 3072

Recall the formula,

Profit = P = SP - CP ----------------(1)

Profit % = \frac{P}{CP } X 100 -----------------(2)

Loss =L= CP - SP  ------------------(3)

Loss % = \frac{L }{CP } X 100 ------------------(4)

From equation(1)

CP = SP - P  = 4080 - P

Substitute the value of CP  and P% in equation (2)

\frac{P}{4080 - P } X 100 = 6.25

\frac{P}{4080 - P }  = \frac{6.25}{100}

6.25(4080 - P) = 100P

4080 ×6.25 - 6.25 P = 100P

100P + 6.25P = 25500

106.25P = 25500

P = \frac{25500}{106.25} = 240

P = 240

From equation (1),

240 = 4080 - CP

CP = 4080 -240 = 3840

CP = 3840

From equation (3)

SP = 3072,

L = 3840 - 3072

L = 768

From equation(4)

L% = \frac{768}{3840}  X 100

=   20

L% = 20%

∴ Loss percent if he sells the article for 3072 = 20%
