Thank you for asking this question. Here is your answer:

We will let x be the shares a person sold for Rs 77 and it has a face value of Rs 100

And income per annum on these shares is 9/4% = 9/4 x 100

= Rs 9/4 x

So the selling price of the shares will be Rs 77x

The purchase price of each share is Rs. 110 and the face value is Rs. 100

And the number of shares the person purchased by selling the previous shares:

77x/110 = 7x/10

The income on each share per annum is 6% of Rs 100 = Rs 6

The income on 7x/10 shares = Rs 6 x 7x/10

= Rs 21x/5

So the income is increasing by 117 per annum

21x / 5 - 9/4x = 117

84x - 45x/20 = 117

39x/20 = 117

x = 20 x 117/39

= 60

So that means he sold 60 shares

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

divi per share = 9*100/4*100 = 2.25

let the no be x

Total dividend = 9x/4

When M. V = 77,

Amount received by selling = 77

share/investment = 77x

N. V = 100

Divi per share =( 6*100)/100 = 6

M. V = 110

No.of share =( 77x)/110 = 7x/10

Total dividend =( 7x)*(6/10) = 21x/5

(21x/5) - (9x/4)= 117

(84x - 45x)/20 = 117

39x = 117*20

x =( 117*20)/39

x = 60 Ans
