By selling the products at 75% of the marked price, a salesman sells 40% more products. If his revenue is increased by Rs. 2800/, what revenue did he make before he made the changes?​

let x be the number of products he sold initially

let y be the cost of each product

then, 2800 = (0.4x) 0.75y - (0.25y) (x + 0.4x)

2800 = 0.3xy - 0.35xy

2800 = 0.05xy

xy = 2800/0.05

xy = 56000

revenue before he made changes is xy thus was 56000
