Answer :-

In total, there are 6 legs on the ground.

Or

Two legs.

Explanation :-

Given,

  • Total number of legs of dogs = 2 x 4 = 8
  • Total number of legs of horses = 4 x 4 = 16
  • Total number of legs of giraffe = 4
  • Total number of legs of duck = 2
  • Total number of legs of chickens = 2 x 3 = 6
  • Total number of our legs = 2

So, According to the information Given,

=> Total number of legs :-

=> 8 + 16 + 4 + 2 + 6 + 2

=> 38

NOTE :- But, also, it is given that the dogs, horses, giraffes and duck are on bed and chickens are flying. Therefore, their legs are not on the ground.

So, the legs which are left on the ground are our and the bed's.

So,

Total number of legs => 2 + 4 = 6

But as for legs of an animal there are only two legs.

Concept

A riddle is a statement, question, or phrase that has a double or obscured meaning and is presented as a riddle to be solved. Riddles are of two types: enigmas, which are problems generally expressed in metaphorical or allegorical language that require ingenuity and careful thought to solve them, and brain teasers, which are questions that depend on their effect on puns in either the question or the answer.

Given

It is given that you enter a room, 2 dogs, 4 horses, 1 giraffe and a duck are lying on the bed. 3 chickens are flying over a chair.

Find

We need to find the number of legs on the ground.

Solution

Number of legs of 2 dogs= 2*4 = 8

Number of legs of 4 horses= 4*4 = 16

Number of legs of 1 giraffe= 1*4 = 4

Number of legs of a duck= 1*2 = 2

Number of legs of 3 chickens = 3*2 =6

Number of legs of a bed= 4

Number of legs of a chair= 4

Number of legs of yours =2

Total number of legs = 46

But we need to find the number of legs on the ground

It is given that 2 dogs, 4 horses, 1 giraffe and a duck are lying on the bed,3 chickens are flying over a chair,so their legs are not on ground.

Number of legs on the ground= Number of legs of yours + Number of legs of chair + Number of legs of bed

= 2 + 4 + 4

= 10

Hence the number of legs on the ground is 10
