Given, x = - 3/5, y = 7/10 and z = - 7/4

Left hand side

= x × (y + z)

= - 3/5 × (7/10 - 7/4)

= - 3/5 × (7 × 2 - 7 × 5)/20

= - 3/5 × (14 - 35)/20

= - 3/5 × (- 21)/20

= 63/100

Right hand side

= x × y + y × z

= - 3/5 × 7/10 + (- 3/5) × (- 7/4)

= - 21/50 + 21/20

= (- 21 × 2 + 21 × 5)/100

= (- 42 + 105)/100

= 63/100

Hence x × (y + z) = x × y + x × z (Proved)
