Before British everyone preferred clothes made of khadi as khadi has quality to keep one cool during summer.In order to prepare a cloth from khadi fibre is converted to yarn by spinning wheel and then the yarn was sent to loom for further process.Since the loom required large amount yarn so in order to convert fibre to yarn the people on large scale used charkhas to convert fiber to yarn.
