let the number be x
-4^-2*x=10^-2
x=10^-2/-4^-2
x=1/10^2/1/-4^2
x=-4/10
x=-0.25

Raghav3333: it should be in exponential form
Raghav3333: answer is (2/5)2 but how?
Raghav3333: answer should come 4/25 or 0.16

Let the number be 'x'

According to given condition,

=> (-4)^{-2} *x= 10^{-2}

=>\frac{1}{4^2}*x=\frac{1}{10^2}

=> \frac{1}{16} * x=\frac{1}{100}

=>x =\frac{16}{100}

=>\boxed{x =\frac{4}{25}}

Therefore, the number to be multiplied is 4/25 (or) (2/5)^2.

Hope it helps!
