Let the number be x,

(–8)^-1 × x = 10^(–1)

-1/8 × x = 1/10

-x/8 = 1/10

x = -8/10

x = -4/5

Hence, required number is -4/5

Let the number be a,

=>(-8)^-1*a=10^-1

=>1/(-8)*a=1/10

=>a=-8/10

=>a=-0.8
