Let the number be x

According to the question

 \frac{ - 12}{13}  \times x =  \frac{4}{39}  \\ x =  \frac{4}{39}  \times  \frac{ - 13}{12}  \\ x =  \frac{ - 1}{9}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given product = 4/39

Given number = -12/13

Let the other number be x then,

x × -12/13 = 4/39

=> x = 4/39 ÷ -12/13

=> x = 4/39 × 13/-12

Hence, x = 1/-9

Answer) 1/-9

Verification :-

If x is 1/-9 then,

1/-9 × -12/13 = 4/39

=> -12/-117 = 4/39 [Will be divided by 3]

=> 4/39 = 4/39 [L.H.S = R.H.S]
