Answer:

Below the step by step explanation is given :-

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm..........(1)

Then accordingly, the length is  (3 + x) cm............(2)

Now the formula for perimeter of a rectangle is

= 2 ( length + breadth)

therefore from (1) and (2) we get

2 ( 3+x+x)

=2 (3 + 2x)

= 6 + 4x

Now, the value of the perimeter is already given,

so, 6 + 4x = 34

=> 4x = 34 - 6

=> 4x = 28

=> x = 28/4

∴ x = 7 cm

So the length is 3 + 7 = 10 cm

and breadth is 7 cm

Hope this helps!!

Answer:

l=3+b                               (1)

b=l-3

perimeter=34 cm         (2)

perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

34=2(3+b+b)                 [from (2)]

34=6+2b+2b

34=6+4b

34-6=4b

28=4b

b=28/4

b=7

l=3+b                     [from (1)]

l=3+7                   (now put the value of b in above equation)

l=10 cm

hope it helps u
