A convex lens is also known as a converging lens. A converging lens is a lens that converges rays of light that are traveling parallel to its principal axis.

Answer:

As per convention u=-60, v=4×60=240

It is not clear if the image is real. Assume it is real and is formed on the other side of the lens.

Put these values in the formula

1/v-1/u=1/f

1/240+1/60=1/f

(1/60)(1/4+1)=1/f

(1/60)(5/4)=1/f

5/(60×4)=1/f

1/48=1/f

f=48 positive sign of f confirms that lens is convex
