• Punjab is irrigated by a network of canals.

3. The police do not know the whereabouts of the missing student.

• The whereabouts of the missing student are not known by the police.

4. Somebody guards the gate all the time.

• The gate is guarded by somebody all the time.

• I am trusted by my friends.

Rules to change from active to passive voice:  

• Keep in mind its tense while converting active to passive voice.

• Exchange the places of the subject and object.

• While converting a sentence from active to passive, we should convert the main verb into its past participle which is also known as the third form of a verb.

• We should always use "by" in the passive sentence.
