(iii) Afforestation and Reafforestation: Afforestation is the planting of more trees and Reafforestation is to plant trees in place of those which are cut down.
d)One of the main objectives of Agroforestry is to raise the production of food crops, legumes and tuber to meet the rapidly growing food requirements of the Indian population. Agroforestry aims at promoting production of, vegetables, pulses, milk and meat.

=> Increasing the Area Under Forests: Planting trees on degraded lands that is unfit for agriculture will not only help in improving the environment but will also relieve harvesting pressure on these forests.
=> Afforestation around Industrial Units: The level of pollution is much higher in areas where industries are located. To prevent, trees are planted around the cities having industrial units. The trees act as a barrier for first and purify the air.
=> Using Alternative Sources of Energy: In order to conserve forests, we must use non-conventional or renewable sources of energy, like super energy, total energy, hydel energy, etc.
