x = 2

y = 3

\huge\boxed{ \bf{\fcolorbox{red}{pink}{Explanation}}}

3x + 8y = 30__________(1)

6x - y = 9

× 8

48x - 8y = 72__________(2)

(1) + (2)

    03x +  \cancel8y = 30 \\  - \underline{ 48x - \cancel8y = 72 \:  \:  \:  \:  }\\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \underline{ 51x + 0y = 102}

51x = 102

x =  \frac{102}{51}  = 2

Apply x = 2 in (2)

6(2) - y = 9

12 - y = 9

12 - 9 = y

y = 3

  • This method is known as Elimination method.
  • This is a easiest method to find x and y.
