Solution:-

sin (240) = opposite / hypotenuse

Substitute the values into definition.

sin \: 240 = \sqrt{ \frac{ - 3}{2} } \div 1

Multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator.

 - \sqrt{ \frac{3}{2} } \times 1
Multiply -1 by -1.

 - \sqrt{ \frac{ 3}{2} }

The result can be shown in both exact and decimal forms:-

Exact form:-
