The 3 kinds of muscles are striated, cardiac and smooth muscles.

1) Striated- attached to bones by tendons, is responsible for skeletal movements.

Ex- Hinge joints

2) Smooth- found in the walls of the hollow internal organs such as blood vessels, the gastrointestinal tract, bladder, and uterus, is under control of the autonomic nervous system.

3) Cardiac-  found in the walls of the heart, is also under control of the autonomic nervous system.

Ex- Heart

Movable joints,

Hinge joints, ball and socket joint ( eg- Shoulder), Pivotal joint and Gliding joints ( eg- wrist and ankle)
