When nitrobenzene reacts with the hydrogen, palladium and ethanol N-ethyl aniline will form.
- Initially nitrobenzene converted into aniline in presence of hydrogen and palladium.
- Then in the presence of ethanol aniline reacts with ethanol and N-ethyl aniline is formed.
- This reaction is Aldol condensation reaction.
