Answer:

the mass of Carbon dioxide = the total mass of calcium carbonate-mass of calcium oxide

=10.0g-5.6g

=4.4g

LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MASS.....

The law of conservation of mass states that mass is an isolated system is neither created nor destroyed by chemical reactions or physical transformations. According to the law of conservation of mass, the mass of product in a chemical reaction must equal to the mass of the reactants.......

Required Answer:

Given:

 \bf { Reactant:-}

  • Calcium carbonate

 \bf { Products:-}

  • Calcium oxide
  • Carbon dioxide

Also,

  • Mass of calcium carbonate = 10g
  • Mass of calcium oxide formed= 5.6g

To calculate :

  • Mass of carbon dioxide formed

Calculation :

According the law of conservation of mass:

 \small \tt { Total \: mass \: before \: reaction = Total \: mass \: after \: reaction }

 \longmapsto \sf { Total \: mass \: of \:products = total \: mass \: of \: reactants }

 \longmapsto \sf { Mass \: of \: calcium \: oxide  + mass \: of \: carbon \: dioxide  = Mass \: of \: calcium \: carbonate }

 \longmapsto \sf { 5.6g + mass \: of \: carbon \: dioxide  = 10g}

 \longmapsto \sf { Mass \: of \: carbon \: dioxide = (10-5.6)g }

 \longmapsto \boxed {\sf { Mass \: of \: carbon \: dioxide = 4.4g }}

Therefore, mass of carbon dioxide is 4.4g.
