When calcium carbonate is heated then it breaks into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. ☞ when calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is heated it undergoes thermal decomposition reaction. the products of this reaction are calcium oxide and Co2. the calcium oxide formed is used to form calcium hydroxide by dissolving it in water.
