Calcium hydride criss cross method plz explain in detail not just give formula straight away which would be totally not helpful

valency of calcium = 2

valency of hydrogen =1

by crisscross method

Element Ca H

Valency 2 1

formula CaH2

In this compound Ca gives 1 electron each to each Hydrogen atom

and then each hydrogen atom completes its duplet

Ca now has an octet (because calcium loses extra two electrons in N to form M shell octet)
