Calcium is an element with atomic number 20. Stating reason answer the following:
1) Will its atomic radius be larger or smaller than that of potassium with atomic number 19

Calcium will have a smaller atomic radius than potassium because atomic radii decreases as we go from left to right

But this answer alone won’t fetch you marks

So complete answer is that because the effective nuclear charge from moving left to right increases and the nucleus of the atom pulls harder to make the atom small in radius

You should shorten up this answer as per marks but I am telling you you won’t score if you write only the first part of the answer. I suffered in pre boards
