Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sides be a, b, c

Let the equal side be a and b..

Therefore, c= 24cm (given)

Now,

Perimeter = a + b+c

64 = a+ a + 24 (a = b)

2a = 40

a = 20 cm= b

s = a+b+c/2 = 64/2 = 32cm

Using herons formula,

Area of triangle = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

= √32(32-20)(32-20)(32-24)

= √16*2(4*3)(4*3)(4*2)

= 4*4*3*2*2

= 192cm^2

Also,

Area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height

192 = 1/2 * 24 * h

h= 16 cm

Area = 192 cm^2 ; Altitude = 16cm

Hope it helps you.....
