Given - Molecules and mass of water.

Find - Percentage of elements and mass of oxygen

Solution - Percentage of element can be calculated as mass of element/total mass of compound.

Using the given formula to find percentage.

1. Calculating for ammounium sulphate

Percentage of hydrogen = 1*4*2/132*100

Percentage of hydrogen = 8/132*100

Percentage of hydrogen = 6.06%

2. Calculating for washing soda

Percentage of water = (10*18)/286.14*100

Percentage of water = 62.9%

3. Calculating for pure water

1 mole of pure water weighs 18 gram and contains 16 gram of oxygen

So, 72 gram of water will contain = 16/18*72

Mass of oxygen = 64
