Answer:

47 %

Step-by-step explanation:

    Given

Calculate coefficient of variation of marks secured by a student in the exam, where the marks are: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

 Let the marks be

 X bar = ∑ X / n = 30 / 5 = 6

             X                              (X – X bar)^2

             2                                 (2 – 6)^2 = 16

             4                                 (4 – 6)^2 = 4

              6                                 (6 – 6)^2 = 0

             8                                  (8 – 6)^2 = 4

             10                                  (10 – 6)^2 = 16

   So  ∑ X = 30                     ∑ (X – X bar)^2 = 40

Now S = √∑ (X – X bar)^2 / n

        S = √ 40 / 5

       S = √8

    S = 2.82

So S / X bar = 2.82 / 6

                   = 0.47

Now coefficient of variation is given by

   S / X bar x 100

          = 0.47 x 100

         = 47 %
