The energy of 2 moles of photons is 4 x 10⁵ Joules.

Given,

Frequency = ν = 5 x 10¹⁴ Hz

Number of Moles of Photons = 2

To Find,

The energy of 2 moles of photons

Solution,

Number of photons = Moles of photons x Nₐ

Nₐ = Avogadro's Number = 6.022 x 10²³

Number of photons = 2 x 6.022 x 10²³

Number of photons = 12.044 x 10²³

The energy of 1 photon = hν

where h = Planck's constant = = 6.63 × 10⁻³⁴ J.s

ν = frequency = 5 x 10¹⁴ Hz

E = 6.63 x 10⁻³⁴ x 5 x 10¹⁴

E = 33.15 x 10⁻²⁰ Joules

The energy of 2 moles of photons = Energy of 1 photon x Number of 2 moles of Photons

E' = 33.15 x 10⁻²⁰ x 12.044 x 10²³

E' = 399.26 x 10³ Joules

E' ≈ 4 x 10⁵ Joules

Hence, the energy is 4 x 10⁵ Joules.
