we have to first find the molality of NaNO3 after diluting,
m1v1=m2v2
=>1.60 × 250/1000 = m2 × 400/1000
=> 1.60 × 1/4 × 10/4 =m2
=>m2 = 1
molality = no. of moles of solute / kg of solvent
=> 1 = no. of moles of solute / kg of solvent
=>1×1 = no. of moles of solute
=> no. of moles of solute = 1
molarity = no. of moles of solute / litre of solution
=>molarity = 1 / (400/1000) ......{400 ml = 400/1000 L}
=> molarity = 2.5 M
Hope it helps, if it does,
