no.of moles = 122.5/122.5 = 1

No.of atoms in KClO₃= 5 x 6.022 x 10²³= 30.110 x 10²³

No.of atoms in K = 6.022 x 10²³

No. of atoms in Cl = 1 x 6.022 x 10²³

No. of atoms in O₃ = 3 x 6.022 x 10²³

                                = 18.066 x 10²³

Number of Atoms of potassium - 6.022 ×10^23

Number of Atoms of chloride - 6.022×10^23

Number of Atoms of Oxygen - 18.066 ×10^23

GIVEN:

Weight of KClO3 - 122.5 kg

TO FIND:

Number of atoms of each element.

SOLUTION:

We can simply solve the problem as under -

Molar mass of KClO3 = 122.5 grams/moles

Number of moles = given weight / molecular. weight

Number of moles of KClO3 = 122.5/122.5 = 1 mole

we know that,

Number of moles of potassium atoms in KClO3 = 1

Number of moles of Chloride atoms in KClO3 = 1

Number of moles of oxygen atoms in KClO3 = 3.

NOW, We know that

1mole = 6.022 \times  {10}^{23}atoms

so,

Number of atoms in 1 mole of potassium atom =

6.022 \times  {10}^{23} atoms

Number of atoms in 1 mole of chlorine atom =

6.022 \times  {10}^{23} atoms

Number of atoms in 3 moles of Oxygen atoms =

3 \times 6.022 \times  {10}^{23}

=

18.066 \times  {10}^{23} atoms
