calculate recoiling velocity of gun of 30 kg when a bullet if 250 gm is fired from it with a velocity of 600m/s class 9​

  • here we use conservation of momentum principle:
  • total momentum before firing = total momentum after firing.

(30+0.25) × u = 30 × (-V ) + 0.25 × 600.

  • since initial velocity of gun along with bullet is zero u = 0.

therefore , 0 = -30×V + 0.25 × 600.

V = 5m/sec
