Distance is basically the area under (v-t) curve ..so here uu have to take area of triangle for distance
and for accelaration use 1st eq'n motion ..i.e. at t=0 , u=40m/s and at t=10sec , v=0
v = u + at
0 = 40 + a(10)
-40 = a(10)
a = -4m/sec^2
negative sign shows that the object is not accelarating , it is deaccelarate at the rate of (4m/s per sec)...
