At stp molar gas volume is :

1 mole = 22. 4litres

Equation for the reaction is :

N₂(g) + 3H₂(g) —> 2NH₃ (gas)

Moles of Nitrogen gas :

140 / (14 × 2) = 140/28 = 5 moles

Volume of Nitrogen :

5 × 22.4 = 112litres

Moles of hydrogen gas :

30 / (2 × 1) = 15 moles

Volume of hydrogen is :

15 × 22.4 = 336 litres

1 = 112litres

3 = 336 litres

2 = 112 × 2 = 224litres

This is because the mole ratio is 1 : 3 : 2

The Amount of Ammonia gas produced is thus 224 litres
