According to 10%law,

since plants have 20000J
herbivores have 200J
carnivorous(lion) have 2J

i) plants can trap only 1% of the sun's energy falling on them..Now ,1% of 2000J is 200J , so energy have actually 200J of energy available in them as food ( the 10 per cent law does not appu at this stage)

ii) the plants are eaten up by deer. now , according to 10 per cent law, 10%of 200J , that's 20J of energy will be available in the deer as flesh of food.

iii) The deer will transfer 10% of its 20J energy to the lion . Thus , the food energy available to the lion will be 10% of 20J which comes to 2J

the above results can be shown more clearly as follows:-

sun   \: \frac{20000j}{1\% \: absorbed}  \:  \: plants  \: \frac{200j}{10\%of \: 200j}  \: deer  \:  \frac{20j}{10\%of \: 20j}  \: lion  \: \frac{2j}{}
