Explanation:

1000 gms = total weight of solution

concentration required = 5 % w/w

thus, 5/100= 5 gms of solute in 100 gms solution , amount of water = 95 gms

therefore,  5/100 = x/1000

x = 5×1000/100

x= 50 gms

Therefore 50 gms solute is required.

Thus, 1000-50 = 950 gms of water required
