shaded area=area of the square - area of the circle

area of the circle (it can be considered as a circle as there are 4 quarter parts)
 = πr²
= \frac{22}{7} *7*7
=154

area of the shaded part is
 14*14-44
=196-154
=42cm²

perimeter of the shaded region= perimeter of the circle
2πr
= 2* \frac{22}{7} *7
=44cm
