Given :-

● The distance between it's parallel side = 19cm

● The two parallel sides are 27cm and 23cm

Solution :-

Here ,

We have to calculate ,

The area of Trapezium

As we know that,

Area of trapezium = 1/2 * ( a + b) * h

Here,

Height of the trapezium( Distance) = 19cm

Parallel sides of trapezium are 27 and 23cm

Put the required values in the given formula

Therefore,

Area of trapezium = 1/2 * ( 27 + 23 ) * 19

Area of trapezium = 1/2 * 50 * 19

Area of trapezium = 25 * 19

Area of trapezium = 475cm^2

Hence, The area of trapezium is 475cm^2 .

Explore more :-

● Trapezium is a quadrilateral which. having two sides parallel.

Some more quadrilaterals are :-

● Square is also a quadrilateral which having four sides equal and opposite sides parallel

Area of square = side * side

● Parallelogram is also a quadrilateral which having opposite sides parallel and equal

Area of parallelogram = base * height

Question :

Calculate the area of a trapezium if the distance between its parallel side is 19 cm and the two parallel sides measures 27 cm and 23 cm (explain in detail with formula).

Answer :

  • Distance between it's parallel sides is 19 cm.

  • Measure of one of the parallel side is 27 cm.

  • Measure of the other parallel side is 23 cm.

  • Area of the Trapezium = ?

Area of Trapezium = \bf{\dfrac{1}{2}\times ( a + b )\times h }

  • a means measure of one parallel side .

  • b means measure of other parallel side

  • h means height .

\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{2}\times (23+27)\times 19}

\longrightarrow\sf{\dfrac{1}{2}\times 50\times 19}

\longrightarrow\sf{25\times 19}

\longrightarrow\sf{475}

  • Therefore area of the Trapezium is 475 cm²
