From question,we have;

  • Length of wire = 1 m
  • Resistance of wire = 20Ω
  • Resistivity of wire = 1.84x10^-6 Ωm

We know that, resistance is,

R = p l/A

20 = 1.84x10^-6 × 1/A

20/1.84 × 10^-6 = 1/A

1.84 × 10^-6/20 = A

9.2 × 10^-8 = A

Therefore, the area of cross section is 9.2 × 10^-8 m²
