Let the vertices of the triangle be A(4,0), B(0,0) and C(04).

x1 = 4,x2 = 0,x3 = 0, y1 = 0,y2 = 0, y3 = 4.

We know that Area of triangle ABC = 1/2|x1(y2 - y3) + x2(y3 - y1) + x3(y1 - y2)|

                                                            = 1/2|4(0 - 4) + 0(4 - 4) + 0(0 - 0)|

                                                            = 1/2|4(-4) + 0 + 0)|

                                                            = 1/2|(-16)|

                                                            = 8 sq.units.


Therefore the area of the triangle = 8 sq.units.
