Answer:

Bond Order = 1/2*(No. of MO in Bonding - No. of MO in Anti-bonding)

BO = 1/2*(2-2)=0

He(2e-)=sigma 1s2 < sigma*1s2

Answer:

Bond order of H e_{2}^{+} is 0.5.

Explanation:

Formula for Bond order is : \frac{1}{2}\left(N_{b}-N_{a}\right)

Where N_b is Number of Bonding molecular orbital Electrons, which is 2 for H e_{2}^{+}

N_a is number of anti-bonding molecular orbital electrons, which is 1 forH e_{2}^{+}

Hence, the Bond order is = \frac{1}{2}  (2-1) which gives  \frac{1}{2} as the answer.

So, the bond order for H e_{2}^{+} and H e_{2}^{-} are \frac{1}{2} which is 0.5.
