Given:

(a) 1 mole of Na⁺ ion

(b) 0.2 mole of Mg²⁺ ion

(c) 0.3 mole of SO₄²⁻ ion

To Find:

Charge in faraday in the given cases.

Calculation:

- We know that 1 Faraday = charge carried by 1 mole electric charge carriers.

(a) 1 mole of Na⁺ ions = 1 mole of positive charge.

⇒ Positive charge carried by 1 mole of Na⁺ ions = 1 faraday

(b) 0.2 mole of Mg²⁺ ions = (0.2 × 2) = 0.4 moles of positive charge

⇒ Positive charge carried by 0.2 mole of Mg²⁺ ions = 0.4 faraday

(c) 0.3 mole of SO₄²⁻ ions = (0.3 × 2) = 0.6 moles of negative charge

⇒ Negative charge carried by 0.3 mole of SO₄²⁻ ions = 0.6 faraday
