1.) key K1 is open and K2 is closed

Answer:

1) when k1 is open and k2 is closed then NO current flows through the circuit.

2) when both the keys are closed then the equivalent resistance of the ckt becomes 4ohm so current will be

I = V/R=12/4=3A

3) when k1 is closed and k2 is open then the equivalent resistance of the ckt 8ohm so current will be

I=V/R=12/8=1.5A
