Let q0 be the original charge present initially at one of the vertex of equilateral triangle.
To bring the charge q1 at another vertex the required workdone is given by

W1 = q0×q1/(4πε0×a)

To bring the charge q2 at third vertex the required workdone is given by

W2 = [ q0×q2/(4πε0×a) ]+[ q1×q2/(4πε0×a) ]

Total workdone W1+W2 = [1/(4πε0×a)] × [ q0×q1 + q0×q2 + q1×q2 ] Joules

potential energy is same as the workdone W1+W2
