The energy released in MeV on the deuterium tritium fusion reaction is 17.6 MeV.

When fusion is achieved by raising temperature of the system so that particles have enough kinetic energy to overcome the coulombic repulsion is called as thermonuclear fusion.

Example:--1H3+1H2------>1H3+1H1 +4 MeV

                 1H3+1H2------>2He4+n1 +17.6MeV

So total energy for the reaction +4+17.6 MeV=21.6 MeV

Net result of two reactions is fusion of 3 deuterons and formation of 1 alpha

particle neuron and proton. The total energy released is 21.6 MeV .

Energy per deuteron fused is 7.2MeV.

So energy in MeV  on the deuterium and tritium fusion reaction is 17.6 MeV.
