The gravitational force between the child and the mother is 1.25 X 10 ⁻⁷N.

Given: Mass of the child (M₁) = 25kg

Mass of the child (M₂) = 75kg

Distance between their centers(R) = 1m

To Find: Gravitational force between them

Solution:

According to Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation,

Gravitational force is given as

F = G\frac{M1M2}{r^{2} }, where G is the universal gravitational constant, M1 and M2 are the masses of the two bodies, R is the separation between them.

The value of G is 6.67 x 10 ⁻¹¹ m³⋅kg⁻¹⋅s⁻².

F = 6.67 x 10 ⁻¹¹  x \frac{(25)(75)}{1^{2} }

  = 6.67 x 10 ⁻¹¹  x 25 x 75

  = 12506.25 x 10 ⁻¹¹ N.

  = 1.25 X 10 ⁻⁷N

Therefore, the gravitational force between the child and his mother is 1.25 X 10 ⁻⁷N.
