Solution

If the two cubical boxes of same dimensions are stacked only the height of the boxes will be added, the base and top top will remain the same i.e., length and breadth will remain the same.

Height = $h=2\times8=16\ \text{m}$

Length = Breadth = $l=b=8\ \text{m}$

So

$A=4hb+2lb\\\Rightarrow A=4\times 16\times 8+2\times 8\times 8\\\Rightarrow A=640\ \text{m}^2$

The total surface area of the stack is $640\ \text{m}^2$.
