Answer:

HELLO EVERYONE,

given that :

mass of solute = 40g

volume of solution = 500 ml

= 0.5 litres

find :

molarity = ?

we know that,

Molarity = number of moles of solute/volume of solution of solution(in litres)

molar mass of solute (NaCl) = 23+35.5

=58.5g/mol

Number of moles of solute = mass of solute /molar mass of solute

number of moles of solute= 40/58.5

=0.683mol

Molarity = 0.683/0.5

= 1.37M

Thank you..☺

I hope its helpful for you.
