Calculate the molarity of a solution of ethanol which contain 15.87 gram of ethanol in 168 gram of water.

weight of water = 168gm

density of water = 1gm/cm^3

Volume = weight × density

v = 168 ml

or 168/1000leter

number of mols of ethenol=

15.87/62= 0.255

molarity = number of mols/volume of solution (leter)

= 0.255/168/1000

= 0.255×1000/168

= 255/168

= 1.51mol/leter Ans
