Answer: 0.4 M

Explanation:

Molarity = No. of moles of solute / Volume of solution ( in L )

Molar mass of NaOH= Molar mass of Na + molar mass of O + molar mass of H

                                   = 23 + 16 + 1 = 40 g

Moles of solute =  given mass / molar mass = 4 g / 40 g

                          = 0.1 moles

Volume of solution = 250 ml = 0.25 L

Molarity = 0.1 / 0.25 = 0.4 M

Answer:

molarity = no moles of solute ÷ volume of solution in litre

so no. of mole =4 ÷ 40 =0.1

now

0.1× 1000÷ 250 = 0.4 mol per litre
